LIBRA FULL MOON 2019
The Full Moon is at 0 degrees Libra opposing the Sun entering Aries on the Vernal Equinox in the Northern Hemisphere of planet Earth. It is called the Autumnal Equinox in the Southern Hemisphere. In September, they switch. The Sun’s ingress to Aries marks the Astrological new year. A zero degree full Moon is like a start from the starting line of a completely new race. A fresh, fresh start. We begin the year with the influence of Venus and Mars in a square to each other. Venus is the ruler of the Libra full Moon. Mars is the ruler of the sun in Aries. It all starts with Venus and Mars. Our relationship to ourself, our relationships with others and how they influence the development of the Self. Mars, the nature of our desire, what fires us forward –the instinct that prompts us to move forward, that causes us to draw back, fingers singed. When Mars is in Taurus, as it is now, we are considering our survival whenever the impulse to begin anew/change course/take a risk arises. Taurus considers how a risk will affect our ability to put food on the table, the means to have a table at all. Mars in Taurus may make a move, but it will consider it first. Venus in Aquarius is squaring Mars in Taurus. Venus rules not only Libra, but Taurus, as well. On this full Moon Mars is trine to Pluto in Capricorn. In the teaching of Jeffrey Wolf Green, the desire nature of the soul is consciously acted out through Mars. We can have a window open to that energy today. Venus in Aquarius will listen to the voice of the aether to inform its decision about how and when to join with others. When you are channeling the voice of the cosmos, you may not waster time on niceties and chit chat. Venus shows us how we listen to ourselves and how we listen and relate to others. The voice of the greater consciousness comes like the hammer of Thor to a walnut - laying waste to the nut’s outer shell and sometimes bruising the meat inside. That nut does get cracked, though and the meat inside will be revealed. While Mercury is retrograde in Pisces and again when it resumes forward motion, it will make a conjunction to Neptune. That idea, that thought, that solution, that next step that has eluded consciousness and articulation, can be coaxed into the conscious realm with a request to our higher self for connection to that which we need to know. I find it useful to remember that I will know what I need to know when I need to know it. Then I can turn my attention to some of the tasks that make up my daily life secure in the knowledge that my higher self, my best connection to the source of all that is, will give me a tap when the solution is on its way. I can relax and remain open to the perfect unfoldment of what’s next. It’s a bit of Aries instinct in the mix, as well. At the Equinox, we are in total balance— you know, the egg experiment that only works at the Equinox. And then, we go back to the norm, which is moving around on the trajectory between polarities. Spring and Fall are the bridges between the extremes of Winter and Summer. We spend more time somewhere in between the extremes of insular me time and an exhausting whirlwind of social experience, for example, on the Aries/Libra trajectory. We enter a new season with this Equinox Full Moon. We begin again every minute of every day, and seeing that big Moon up there is a great reminder that we can breathe, relax, and breathe in the new whenever we want. Aries and Libra are cardinal signs. They like to begin things. Libra likes to experience a variety of relationships to help define the self through experiencing others. At this full Moon, it’s not calling us to see where we don’t measure up, it is more to question, does that interaction feel good to me? Do I like who I am when I behave or speak in such a way? Aries likes to viscerally experience itself through the pull of the instinctual self. It is experiencing new flashes of itself with each experience. Here I am running. Here I am eating. Here I am sleeping. Here I am nipping our to the shops on impulse and finding just what I need. We are never done with the unfoldment of our experience. We transition, we evolve, we transform. Each of the days, the seasons, the full and new Moons, can highlight, nudge, loosen, invite, shock, and soothe us. Hang on, hang in, deep breathe in, deep breathe out. And, we’ve made it through another turn around the wheel of the year. Talking to a friend, talking to oneself, talking with universal forces can all remind us we aren’t alone and we’re all going home. Love, Lydia www.soulastro.com [email protected]

PISCES NEW MOON 2019
The new Moon in Pisces is conjunct it’s ruler, Neptune and Mercury, who begins retrograde motion through March 28. Uranus is moving back into Taurus to help us ground the genius available from the heavens and our Higher Selves if we just take the time to attune. Mercury retrograde in Pisces can help with this attunement, slowing the mind down enough while we restart our phone to get the wonky WIFI connection to hear, see and assimilate something we were racing too fast to notice last week. Speaking of slowing down, Mars is also in Taurus. Once the fixed Bull resolves to engage with a project or idea, it will steadfastly move through the process of completing that project. Mercury retrograde just asks us to check our work as we go. Jupiter turns retrograde on April 10 through August 11, so March is a food month to get projects in motion. Once the Jupiter retrograde begins, it’s good to have at least a first draft to review and expand. Now about this new Moon. The dark of a watery Moon can bring an in breath of renewed faith and desire to attract that which our whole self desires. The desire to eat chips while lying on the couch and watching the unfurling of other people’s dream on TV or IG could also be on the table. The Pisces fish swim in opposite directions, one not seeing the other. One may turn it’s face to the sun, the rays expanding as they ripple into the water. The other fish may be solidly resting among the reeds on the sandy bottom – invisible world to all, including its sunnier self. The Mercury retrograde in Pisces may have us in a loop of old dreams and desires, replaying them in the sandy bottom like a scratchy old DVD. Be aware of the here and now and the evolution of that which you dream for and desire in this moment— not the past you, but the now you. These new dreams and desires stream effortlessly when we swim clear of historic debris. Both aspects are useful. Frolic and silence each have their place. The new Moon makes us aware of the strong connection between the two fish — the lifeline can link us to our Higher Self. Our Higher Self can see up above the waves. It can see around corners and sometimes into next week. The broader perspective may call us up out of our monk’s cell down in the reeds and bring us back into action. Pisces breaks down the barriers between the ego self and the timeless ultimate truth of our souls. When encountering even a bit of this freedom from time and the physical, a spiritual practice and can come in handy to help to stabilized and integrate the larger experience. Rest, fresh air, salty baths and nice food ease the journey. Pisces is the twelfth sign of the Zodiac. Because it holds the energy of all twelve signs it can be the feeling of knowing all and knowing nothing. There can be a feeling of “I thought if I knew the point I would be fulfilled and now that I know the point, I feel empty. This old saying is pertinent at this time: Before enlightenment, chop wood, carry water. After enlightenment, chop wood, carry water. Allowing for rest and assimilation at the new Pisces Moon is recommended. We have travelled, once more, around the wheel of the year. It is a time of reflection and assimilation. The wise adage “look back but don’t stare” is useful here. By the next new Moon we are in Aries, reborn, energetic, curious, instinctual, questing. The Pisces new Moon is internal, it is resting, it is digesting all that has been seen, experienced, assimilated and left behind over the course of the last year. It is right to be, perhaps, in a state of unknowing, of torpor, of loss, of fulfillment, of peace, of confusion, of grace. Flowing through all of the emotions, all of the experiences, all of the dreams and connections on the inner and the outer is the Pisces experience. Allowing oneself to be conscious of all of it, moment to moment, prepares us for the diving in, one episode again, to come. Happy Floating on the Sea of Consciousness.
