LEO NEW MOON 2019
Hello Friends! The New Moon is at 8 degrees Leo 37 minutes. Shortly after the exact moment of the new Moon Mercury is resuming forward motion at 24 degrees Cancer. The Leo new Moon gives us a bit of a rebirth with intention kind of moment. It’s a kind of I’m here and I plan to do something Beautiful kind of energy. Leo has an optimistic, sunny inner core, like the yolk of an egg floating in viscous fluid that feeds the creation of the chick. Leo wants to feed the instinctual creative force that is the first of the fire signs, Aries. It wants to make something of the fact that it is here and that on the Earth plane, in any moment, we are free to create. Not all that we create is physical – like a meal or a painting. We create relationships, romance, conversation. We create the energy of a family unit – by blood or by other means. We create ideas and desires and plans. We create an atmosphere, a vibration that allows what we want to come into form. A Leo new Moon can feel like a rebirth breath — the first one we take on awakening. It can be the inspiration we experience when an idea is sparked by a flower in the garden, a chat with a friend or a wise quote that has a seed that sits just right in the fertile space in our hearts and minds. Leo rules the heart. It wants to make things that feel good to the heart. It wants to get its creations out into the light of the mighty day, the Sun, so they can be seen. Venus and Mars are also in Leo at the moment. We can tune into magnanimity toward ourselves, each other and the natural world. At the new Moon, Venus is square to Uranus in Taurus. We may feel an inner itch for freedom, excitement or something new in the way we relate to ourselves and others. The desire for the new and exciting is a creative one. It can be expressed as an outburst. We can feel it rising up and direct it to an outburst that feels good to us: making new recipes, dancing a new dance, listening to different music, clearing a closet. Okay, those are very quiet new things. You could go bigger, but you get the idea. We can go with planetary energies. We can go with the urge to create, to rebel, to join in with the beauty of our world. The encouragement of Creative energy can be as simple as feeling comfortable in one’s own skin, in one’s home, at work and doing chores. Nurturing and enlivening an internal space makes it safe for creation to start to grow. At a new Moon it can be as simple as seeing what make us laugh, what tastes delicious and what feels good to wear. Creating more good feelings is a way in to Creative Self Expression. On August 11 Jupiter goes direct at 15 degrees Sagittarius— also a fire sign. Sag can take the ideas that have been incubated since the Leo new Moon and transform them, deepen them and enrich them. The seed is first. It is the idea in the dark of the earth. It does a lot of creating well before the shoot pokes its head above ground. Nurturing the germination stage is so important. It’s not out there blabbing and swinging it’s petals around in the breeze. It is quietly underground. There’s a time for all of it, but new Moons are the time of fertile soil and quiet gestation a kind of pause and rest. The full Moon is a culmination. We have one of each a month and the waxing and waning times between. If we tune into our creative flow and timing, the growth of ideas and their subsequent creations burst forth in perfect timing and with minimum effort. Lions spend a lot of time lounging about, snoozing and playing with their cubs. Leo rules children, as well as all of our other creative expressions. 🦁💗🌑 Happy Leo new Moon to you! The partial lunar eclipse at 24 degrees 04 minutes Capricorn completes the cycle started with the new Moon in Cancer on July 1.
The Cancer/Capricorn axis is so much about where we come from – the swirling waters in which we gestate and become human form in Cancer and the more linear time in which we operate in Capricorn. Cancer is, in a broad sense, as a water sign, about feeling. Cancer teaches us to be responsible for and to understand our emotional body. Capricorn, as an Earth sign, is about doing. It asks us to be responsible for our physical body and how we use it as we move about on the Earth plane. We are, at any moment experiencing a bit or a lot of one or the other, or both. The eclipsed full Capricorn Moon asks, or perhaps commands us to be centered in our authority. When centered in our personal authority, we know intuitively when to plan and when to move. We know when to retreat and when to forge ahead. Saturn, Capricorn’s ruler, is in charge of time. If you are feeling like there are brakes keeping you from going full speed ahead, it could mean the timing needs to be set to a trot not a gallop. A slower speed allows for adjustments, realignments and recalibration to the plan. With Mercury retrograde until July 31st, reviews and rewrites Are part of the mix, anyway. By the way, Jupiter, Saturn, Neptune and Pluto are all currently retrograde, as well. Because Mercury affects our day to day travels, technology and interactions, we hear more about it. The way we approach expansion, limitation and structures, dreams and hopes and the very evolution of our souls are all up for review and restructuring. Two steps forward one step back is actually a gentle way to approach and engage with our development. We can review what we missed the first time, we can look at things from a different angle. We can gain insight, perspective, and information that will make for a robust journey and outcome. We have two eclipse cycles each year. The next one starts on December 25 with a Capricorn New Moon. The next six months can be influenced by this July’s eclipses. We have new and full Moons every month (moonth) and the opportunity to start again, or more likely, to reengage is available again and again. The threads of cosmic and planetary energies can be picked up and woven into our unfolding stories again and again. If we miss the bus, another one will be along eventually or maybe in five minutes time. There may be “missed chances” but the opportunity for alignment with our ever refining goals is also present for us. The Capricorn/Cancer trajectory is concrete and it is dreamy. It can show us when to say Yes! It can reveal the limitations in embarking right now wider scope available in a few weeks if we can but tune into our own personal time signature. Cancer and Capricorn are Cardinal signs. They like to begin things. We can use that energy to begin again. If we have backed up, taken a rest stop, we can resume forward motion, perhaps taking a lesser known road or taking along a companion – a human companion or the companion that is wisdom and experience. Capricorn is the adult. It is authority. Cancer is the water and Capricorn is the cup. The limitation of the cup holding the water allows us to gaze at the water and the reflection of the moon in it. It is when the cup becomes a thimble that we may need to remember to expand our gaze, and remember that the seashore holds the ocean in much the same way as the thimble. The scope is much larger. Each has its usefulness and purpose. We can adjust our actions and our view to fit the pond in which we swim, the glass from which we drink, the moon on which we gaze. Size and shape and our relationship to our engagement in the world and with our desires and ambitions can be assessed, understood and integrated at times like a full Capricorn Moon and eclipse. We are large and we are small. We can fit just right into the situations of our lives. By dipping into our histories, our learning, our self-perception and our maturation, we can walk with the strength and awareness of our own ever-refining stature into each new day. CANCER NEW MOON 2019
TOTAL ECLIPSE OF THE SUN A new eclipse cycle begins with the new Moon at 10 degrees 38 minutes Cancer on July 2, 2019. If you have planets or angles within a few degrees orb in aspect to the new Moon, the effect may be more profound, more pointed, for you. There will be a partial Lunar eclipse on the full Moon on July 16th at 24 degrees four minutes Capricorn. The Cancer new Moon eclipse invites us to have a new emotional beginning. We can reset our thoughts and reactions in regard to emotional triggers. We can allow in the idea that we can choose how we feel by directing our thoughts to things, ideas and memories that make us feel good. In Cancer we take responsibility for our own emotional body. We release the idea that people, places, things or circumstances can “make us feel” a certain way. Certainly some things will take more focus than others to keep our focus on feeling well. The ego – also related to Cancer – sometimes wants to project/deflect emotional responsibility onto someone or something else. The dark of the Moon can leave us with our the stark nature of our own thoughts and feelings. Cancer is ruled by the Moon. It is the time to practice finding thoughts that feel good, that feel uplifting or peaceful or hopeful. We can be hopeful while we move through historical experiences, memories, hopes and desires. Mercury will go retrograde on July 7th at 4 degrees Leo, and will resume forward motion at 24 degrees Cancer on July 31. We can rewire our mental reactions to emotional trips. We can get creative with how we frame our emotional histories to allow our paths to be lit in new ways. Mars entered Leo on July 1, and will journey through a sunny, creative, special-feeling space until August 17. We will be physically inspired for creative self expression for the next 7 weeks. We will be truly energized by the Sun. With the effect of the Cancer/Capricorn eclipse cycle we may be able to tune into a sense of timing on how, when and where to expend the energy on creative endeavors. When I say creative endeavors, it can mean anything you are wanting to bring about, to manifest. Capricorn’s ruler, Saturn, is in charge of timing, and Cancer can intuit the when and where. When we bask in our own energetic field — whether lying in bed, on the beach or in an actual field, we can act, more and more, from a place of ease and right timing. There is less effort and more allowing. If we are busy reviewing, for the thousandth time, old hurts or pains or blames, we can miss the easy timing found when we focus on what feels better. Neptune is retrograde in Pisces until November 28th. We can take this time to release old wounds and worries back into the cosmic pool for purification. We can drink new and delicious dreams into our system of thought and feeling. We can’t always see the end of the road. If we know when to step on it, though, the unfoldment can be completely magical, energizing, peaceful, happy, creative and fulfilling. Relax and enjoy. Life is but a dream. Dream a dream you like dreaming. Then it can grow. All the very best, Lydia www.soulastro.com [email protected] |
