The new Moon in Libra is an especially good time for beginnings.
#Libra is a Cardinal air sign. Cardinal signs like to initiate. Air signs rule the mental body. We have just past an equinox heralding the move into a new season, regardless of which hemisphere you call home. As Libra is ruled by #Venus, how we relate may be on our minds. Relating, in Libra, is a way for us to get to better know ourselves, through our relationships. Jupiter will be spending the next year or so in Libra and is conjunct this new moon, so some optimism and excitement will fuel the desire to get out and learn about others. Mars moved into Capricorn this week. The Mars square to the new Moon and the Sun in Libra calls us actually relate, rather than just thinking about and talking about relating. The square reminds us that relationships start with the most personal one - the connection we have with ourselves and our higher selves. From our center, we make our way into the world to meet with others and see reflected back us what we do and don't want in our relationships with others and with ourselves. Pluto has resumed forward motion in Capricorn after being retrograde since April. We will begin to be drawn into the world, lead by desire for personal authority and the desire to forge relationships that work well for us, that empower each of us to have the best union with our own, inner authority. The time spent with Sun in Virgo allowed for mental, emotional and physical housecleaning that prepares us to move above the horizon, into the seventh sign, Libra. Libra is the first of the relationship signs. The first five signs are related to the building of the ego. They are personal. Virgo prepares us to go into the world after a time of self reflection. In Libra we have opened the door back into the world – experiencing, interacting, reflecting, assimilating, evolving. Apologies to those that don't watch #GameofThrones, but we are at that moment when a heroine states, “a girl is Arya Stark and I am going home.” We state that which we are, as best we can know it for today, and we stand strong in that. We forge on out into the big existence. Sometimes shared, sometimes in solitude. Always on the way Home. Love, Lydia www.soulastro.com [email protected]

We have a full Harvest Moon in Pisces with a lunar eclipse. Simply put, the eclipse amplifies the power of the Full Moon. Chiron is conjunct this Full Moon. So, the thorns in our sides, or at the bottoms of our feet, need to be dug out and perhaps soaked out in an Epsom bath. Letting go of that which rankles or interferes with our sense of peace can be eased out at this time.
The Sun in Virgo will look through our things (real, imaginary and in between) and let some of them go as we prepare for the upcoming Equinox. This process allows for equilibrium. People and relationships, things, jobs and with the Saturn/Neptune square even some dreams may have been released already or are on their way to the recycling. The practical, earthy and transformational Virgo Sun helps us ground what remains. Virgo helps us to know how to integrate that which we want into our daily life - ten minute fitness or language or painting class apps all can be easily assimilated into our days. Cathartic practices are encouraged. Catharsis that gets the mind and body in sync – as Virgo is a Mercury-ruled earth sign, there is an opportunity to get the mind and body on the same page. A woodland walk with some shaking off of old stuff/a nice cry/a swim in the sea or a pond is always cleansing. Standing in a Full harvest Moon Bath is a recommended. The Neptune (ruler of Pisces) in Pisces square Saturn in Sagittarius is asking us for a greater truth especially in regard to how we lead our lives, structure our days and dream our dreams. Would a year backpacking abroad really be the best thing for our health and happiness right now? Or would a weekend in a cozy cabin an hour from home be a more realistic, more nurturing choice. Sometimes a dream sounds great but it could be shaped more manageably to a size that is instantly achievable. Dreaming into our lives is a great thing AND if we are honest, the dream may not always suit the dreamer. We may be impressed by the dreams of others, and it is a great time to see which dreams suit us best. Speaking of dreams, some plans/aspirations/desires that have been on the shelf for a while may also fall off now and ask for attention. Saturn rules time and the time may be right to give certain things another go. We may now have the maturity, ability, time to pursue a dream we had let go of. The long-missing missing piece of the puzzle at last found. As Mercury remains retrograde in Virgo until September 21st, some things may return or reemerge better for the time away from us. Jupiter, the greater benefic, is now in Libra for the next year or so. How we do partnerships of all types is a way to see how we, ourselves, want to relate in and through the world and all kinds of partnerships. The first partnership is with the self. The Virgo/Pisces polarity shines a light on our daytime and our nighttime selves and how we can unify, in a useful fashion, all parts of ourselves. To thine own self be true. Climbing Everest isn't always necessary – or advisable. Whatever hill you choose to climb, go at your own pace and carry love for self in your pack. It is the saving grace. Lots of love, Lydia www.soulastro.com[email protected] |
