How clear is your window on your world? CANCER NEW MOON 17 July 12:32 PM at 24 degrees 56 minutes Cancer The new moon is sextile Uranus in Taurus, trine Neptune in Pisces and inconjunct Venus in Leo. It is widely opposing retrograde Pluto in Capricorn. Mercury in Leo squares Jupiter in Taurus. It helps to make something beautiful to clear your head – a cake, a bouquet, a song. Let the heart expand and shake off your concerns. Cancer is practical. It has an ingrained sense of timing on when to rest and when to act. As the household manager of the zodiac, Cancer needs to keep up with a lot of moving parts. Crabs don’t just have 360-degree vision, they can see ALL around using 9000 separate eye facets, each used for different tasks. A Cancer new Moon, then is a good time to get the lay of your personal land. As the year is just past it’s halfway mark, it is a good time to review. We can take an internal and an external inventory and see what needs to be restocked - and what needs to be released altogether. Tune into the self and the emotional body. Where are emotions taking you? Is it someplace pleasant, constructive, and helpful? Or is it down a well-worn path paved with rehashed memories? Cancer is great at keeping house and is learning that emotional cleansing is even more important than a well-scrubbed floor and a whopping bank balance. If the window through which we view the world – which IS the emotional body, is clean and clear, the way we approach life will be clean and clear as well. If that window is smeared with fingerprints, tears, and regret, the way forward can be murky. A good cry is a great start – followed by a trip to the charity shop/recycling center with that which no longer serves us. These actions show our Higher Self we mean business about moving more and more into a daily life that we really want. The nodes of the Moon change sign on the 18th. The North Node will be in Aries and the South Node in Libra and here they will spend the next year and a half. These are Cardinal signs, as is Cancer. Gathering the energy to start something new can be invigorating and empowering now. Let the instincts guide the focus and timing. Stare into a candle or campfire and see what comes to mind. Mars is in Virgo until 27 August. Allow the mind to float and release whatever clutters it. Shake the body loose of what is restraining, vexing, or critical. Allow yourself to breathe easily. Venus goes retrograde at 28 Leo on 23 July. Clearing and cleaning the ideas, things and spaces that we hold dear is on the schedule. This cleaner slate will lay the groundwork for what we create for ourselves and in relationships going forward. Because of the retrograde, Venuswill remain in heart-ruled Leo much longer than usual — until 9 November. We have months in 2023 to hone the attention to what we do and not value in our lives and how to create what we do want and value in that life. The attention is on what we love. It is time to build on that which we value and to release that which we do not. Start with the focus on the heart and ask it what it truly wants. Run all choices through that organ which is the driving force of manifestation. Heart-centered meditation can be key at this time. During the Cancer new moon, you can also run this inventory of valuables through your senses. Cancer rules the stomach. What are you still eating out of habit that may no longer be to your taste? What old condiments are hanging out in the back of the fridge that are not the spice you want to add to your life? The smallest clear out at this time can make a very big difference. The energy of the things in your home can affect daily moods. What are you keeping because it was a gift and every time you look at it the item triggers a memory of an argument long ago or reminds you of a sad event better forgotten? Can you let that thing go? Can you feel the relief when it is no longer in your precious space? These are powerful times. Objects and ideas carry energy. The attention we put in things can take way from - or add to - our personal energy/creativity bank. Is that item, thought, snack, or habit building you up - or, bit by bit, is it tearing you down? Tune in, feel the vibe, polish it up, or take it away. You get to choose. The Cancer new Moon invites us to lay ourselves bare – to ourselves. We can take personal responsibility for how we respond to the human experience on all levels. Find the dark of the moon in your belly and ask what you need, what you want and how to proceed. CAPRICORN FULL MOON
This full Moon is at 11 degrees 18 minutes Capricorn 7:38 AM EST on 3 July 2023. Jupiter trines this full Moon focusing on how we can embody personal authority through emotional strength. Uranus at 21 degrees Taurus squares Venus and Mars conjunct in Leo. Allow time to value who you are and what you want to embody through creative personal self-expression. The inspiration at this time can be pleasantly surprising. Neptune is now retrograde in Pisces until December 7. Dig deep into dreams, hopes, wishes, and desires. See which ones you still hold a candle for, and which ones are just taking up space on the Shelf of Manifestation. Since we have a Cardinal New Moon in Capricorn, with Sun in practical Cancer, a bit of housekeeping will clear the way for what you do want. Actual cleaning out of the closet that holds the tools of hobbies you will never engage in again is a great example. We can then have room for what’s next. Dried up paints can go. Unused sporting goods can be sent to the consignment shop. It’s time to be honest about how you want to spend your precious time. Mars enters Virgo on the 11th and the clear out vibe continues. What is rattling around in the mind and habit of thought that needs to go? How can the thoughts be kinder, more helpful and more hopeful? The Cancer time is one for nurturing all parts of the self and allowing nature to inform how and when to do that. Is it too hot at noon? Then go at 8 am. Circumstances can be trying. How can we adjust to circumstances to make life more comfortable for ourselves? The Capricorn/Cancer axis is about taking personal responsibility for our emotional body. The emotional body is more stable if we eat food that is nourishing, if we get needed sleep and other kinds of rest. The heart beats more steadily if we think thoughts that make us feel better. It may feel like we are at the mercy of our responsibilities and surroundings – the weather, the economy, the politicians. Look for places where we can use our own authority. Choose what we put in our body. Choose where we place our attention in regard to news and media. Choose to get darker curtains if the house is too hot. We can’t control it all. Where can we make adjustments – in large and small ways – to the circumstances at hand? Which will pass? Which ones are more intractable? Do we need to make a move? Do we need to change or end a relationship, job, or dietary habit? Cancer rules the stomach, so attending to gut flora could be just the adjustment that is called for to allow us to make clearer decisions about everything else! What DO we have authority over? We have the authority to choose to meditate. We have the authority to find a way to connect the heart with the brain; to rewire the circuitry to choose a more peaceful thought. We can choose to go on Youtube and find a spiritual teacher who helps us to walk away from victim consciousness and into personal responsibility for our own vibration. This is very Capricorn full Moon stuff. Taking personal responsibility for feeling better regardless of the current external circumstances is the business of Cancer. Circumstances can start to change when we link that heart to the head. Capricorn rules the skeleton, so move the body to help adjust the thinking. Capricorn is wise and Cancer is intuitive. Meditate. Ask, let the question go, and allow answers to come. Change what we can. Start with the self. 🐐🌕🦀 Love, Lydia |
