A total eclipse of the Moon in Mars-ruled Aries with The Sun in Venus-ruled Libra. This is the second of this September's Eclipse cycle. Many have taken to calling it a blood moon as it can appear red in the sky. It is also a harvest moon. With the Sun and Moon both in Cardinal signs it is a time of beginnings: for the emotional/ego self with Moon in Aries and for the way we relate in the world/ in partnership with the Sun in Libra. The fire of the self feeds the air of partnership. Aries is the first of the signs of the self and Libra is the first of the signs of joining with others. The initiatory energy can be explosive, to start with, anyway. Then it may check itself-by retreating a bit - I felt great about my outfit, my conversation skills, my ability to relate as I was getting ready, in the signs from Aries through Virgo, to get out and join the world. Now that I am out here, wow, it is REAL! I may feel I just need to run back home and adjust my lipstick/conversation skills/ideology. The inherent insecurity in the cardinal signs can bring on the two steps forward one step back experience. And that is totally fine!!! If we have been working on ourselves- inside and out- getting to know what we know, what we think, what we believe, what food suits our palate and vitality, how much sleep we need, which yoga pose wakes our back up, then going out into the world in Libra, on a massive full Moon eclipse no less, can shake all of that up! All of a sudden we have a boss who wants us to come in at 8 when it suits us best to sleep til nine. We are on a date with a steak lover who doesn't like to argue and we are devout vegans who love a heated discussion. So, we may turn tail, scamper home, in the light of that big Moon, to regroup. Great! Who we are at home on our own is what we have been developing. Coming into the world and maintaining our authenticity and allowing the other to maintain theirs is advanced stuff. So come on out, the weather is fine! But when you've had enough, go on home, put the kettle on, and tune back into your self at rest. Starting back out the door again when you've relaxed in self-kindness will be that much more flowy. Mercury is still retrograde in Libra until October 9, so old ways of relating are called on for review. Keep a loving eye on your relationship with yourself first and foremost. If that relationship is tended with love and fluidity, it is far more likely that relationships of all other kinds will magnetize the same. The key is maintaining contact with our own healthy instinct that tells us not only when to sleep and what to eat, but also who to trust and which opportunities will fuel our fire best. In Libra we learn, by meeting a variety of vibrations, which ones feel harmonious and which ones are not as harmonious. Which meetings/encounters energize and which ones deplete? Which activities/partnerships feed our creativity and joy and ease and which ones do not? Which food smells good , looks good AND feels good to eat and digest? These experiences take energy and the way they feel to us takes attention and time to assimilate. Aries is ruled by Mars and it is our instinctual guide. Learning to confer, at home and abroad, with our right instinct, gives us the alignment that keeps us in touch with the self, and, in turn, with the world(s) in which we travel. The first of the autumn eclipse cycle is upon us. Yes, eclipses can be momentous and be a catalyst for shifts both for the individual and the collective. Twice a year we have one of each: Solar and Lunar. The Lunar eclipse will take place on the Aries full Moon on September 27. Today's Solar eclipse by the Virgo new Moon brings us to a space of rest between the time of ego development from Aries through Leo and anticipation of the time we step out into the community in Libra. Here we can stop, rest, and appreciate. For some it is picking actual fruit of the land - enjoying the abundance of good that came and the result of planting and tending so far this year. Mercury starts a retrograde cycle on the 17th at 16 degrees Venus- ruled Libra going direct again on October 9 at 1 degree Libra. We are given a few weeks to mentally digest what we learned/experienced about how we love and relate to ourselves during the recent Venus in Leo retrograde cycle. We've been reflecting on the creation that is the self. We can, as we rest in New Moon space-between-breaths energy, look in at who we are at Home. Who we are at rest, without makeup and social posturing/social anxiety/social networks. Ahh. just me. At rest. And, in turn, can we consider/do we want to/can we allow ourselves - to ease out the door, into the world- as that person at rest. Just me. Also on the 17th Saturn enters Sagitarrius where he will stay until December 2017. The way we structure our lives and structure our learning/relating/time may free up. There wiill be an increase in the intuitive flow guiding our individual and collective movement through the earth plane. Pluto goes direct in Capricorn on Sept 25. So, with the Saturn influence on Pluto moving forward, our purpose, day to day, may slot into place with a bit less resistance- as we are now allowing ourselves to be more and more in line with what we are guiding ourselves to become. New Moon in Virgo! The fruit of your efforts and allowing are beautiful. Your sense of ease is increasing every time a feeling of warmth and love and what gives you comfort and fulfillment is invited into your space - your physical/mental/emotional/spiritual/social space. Allow. Allow.Allow. Much love to you. Lydia www.soulastro.com |
