New Moons are always points for new beginnings. This Scorpio new Moon is asking for actual cleaning out to make room for the transformation to the next phase. Fixed, wateryScorpio means business and will do what is necessary to prepare for change. Seriously, clear out some drawers, get rid of post it stockpiles and other road blocks to actual movement and abundance and relationship. Mars, the lower octave of Pluto, ruler of Scorpio, is in Libra. Our ways of relating are being laid bare to illustrate who WE are by how we treat/interact with others. Venus is moving through Scorpio adding additional willingness to deepen our view and experience of relationship. Scorpio rules marriage where Libra rules how we relate to others in a variety of ways. Scorpio commits. It commits to its own deepening of desire to merge with and experience Source energy. One way is through intense bonding with another. And Scorpio likes the good kind o relationship – the soul baring kind. The relationship where, together, you become something new and rich and deep. Scorpio’s polarity to Taurus can lead to hoarding of pens or canned goods or whatever that we think keeps the wolves of fear and insecurity from the door Scorpio knows that these overstuffed cabinets — actual and ideological— don’t provide true security. The world is nuts and scary and none of us gets out of it alive. Scorpio is brave and willing to be caught, eaten and digested by the “beast” of transformation in order to experience the next iteration of existence—even if it’s new form is unrecognizable. It has a fear of being laid bare on the tundra and being seized by All That Is. But the urge to move on to the next eventually overcomes the fear and movement occurs. Empowerment is a result. A feeling of being more connected to the world and to others is a result. If you’ve been through the mill and come out the other side utterly transformed, after that, the world and its people do feel like less of a threat. I felt moved to paint the Eagle aspect of Scorpio. Scorpio has three symbols — the Scorpion- when poked it strikes. The eagle, who has distance from issues and goings on, and can hone in on the detail that defines the issue. It sees the forest and the squirrels in the forest that will be its dinner. The third symbol of Scorpio is the Phoenix. The Phoenix is defined by its ability to dive into the fire in order to be born anew from the ashes. The Eagle aspect of Scorpio is resonating at the moment because the energy is in expanding mode - to gain a wider perspective of ourselves and our world view. Jupiter is now in Scorpio and Jupiter widens our scope. Jupiter lends an air of optimism to the transformations that are underway. The Scorpion is tiny and easily threatened with its smaller outlook. The Eagle grabs him and takes him for a spin. Perhaps he will be eaten and both the dinner and the diner will be transformed by that act. We are now, at once, the eater and the eaten. The willingness and courage to participate as fully as we can in our own journeys is called for. We can always stop and even retreat/regroup before we carry on again. A new Moon is that retreat/regroup. We clean up, change clothes and shore up our strength before heading out into the world once more. We gather our strength – experiences, the information we have gained from all levels of seeking, the desires we’ve fueled from life so far, and we allow the Eagle on the wing, or the tide, or the meditation, or the lovemaking to take us. The journey begins anew. Much love, Lydia www.soulastro.com [email protected]

TAURUS FULL MOON 2017
The Taurus – Scorpio polarity is one of the most powerful in the wheel of the zodiac. Taurus is the second signed of the zodiac — fixed, yin, Venus-ruled earth sign. It wants, more than anything, to feel secure. It makes its world smaller as that’s an easier perimeter to guard. Fixed signs know how to dig their heals in and get things done — if they find the thing worthy. Idealistically it may not always jibe, but for Taurus, if it keeps food on the table and the lights on, it may well jibe. One can ponder ones navel more comfortably with a full belly. At the moment, Taurus’ ruler, Venus, is sextiling Saturn and opposing Uranus. Saturn is time and structure (and karma). Uranus is the zeitgeist, the group mind and revolution by way of revelation. We can see houses of cards crumbling. The way people have been relating, and manipulating (Scorpio stuff)is coming to light. People are emboldened and valuing themselves enough to speak up. This is an example of that Taurus Scorpio Polarity. Personal experience when shared by many makes a groundswell. With the Full Moon, Saturn in Sagittarius trines Uranus in Aries instinctually revealing greater truths about the structure of things. Trines are points of ease, so truths unfurl instead of raining down like hailstones. This revelation is not just appending on the world stage. We will see how truths we’ve been unready or unable to see in our own lives may be revealed. That is the journey, after all. In Scorpio time, if we are willing to metaphorically and in reality see what is at the corner of our eyes and ears and hearts, it is easier to experience. Its aim is to learn self sufficiency, so it sometimes bars the windows against all and sundry, keeping out the hurt, the help and everything in between. It wants to feel it’s own vibration, separate from everyone else’s, so that it can know itself and it can then befriend itself and it can then value itself. Huge amounts of input don’t always aid this process. Isolation helps to a point. Taken to the extreme, Taurus does it the hard way, determinedly digging a hole with its fingernails when at its elbow, there is a spoon, a spade, a shovel. The Venus-ruled bull is learning, in its vacuum, to have the primary relationship, the one with itself. We have at play, however, the polarity. In this case, that polarity is Pluto-ruled, fixed, receptive, watery Scorpio. Scorpio shares resources, it loves the challenge of the transformative adventure. It loves to probe the secrets of the universe, the soul and the contents of your lunchbox. Scorpio knows how to share resources, team up and dive into the fiery pit of transformation. Taurus May rest on the laurels of material security. Scorpio’s broader scope (one of its symbols is the far seeing eagle) reminds us that the true security is in the realm of spirit, as all else passes away. We face, in this polarity our own limitations and insecurities. In Scorpio, we want to experience oneness with Source. We are also scared of that experience and the effect it will have on our ego — our self vs. Self. So we scamper back and forth on the power line between Taurus and Scorpio: Learning to value ourselves and be self sufficient under Taurus; Learning to transform and adventure and unravel the secrets of ourselves under Scorpio. We are self reliant, we are leaning on others, we are interdependent. We have glimpses of Source at home, alone, on the meditation chair, while doing the dishes. We have waves of Source while praying, dancing, conversing with others. We grow, we change, we incur and transmute karma. We go inward, we adventure outward so that we can transform inward. The Taurus/Scorpio experience is stubborn, it is powerful, it commits. And it may, at times, feel insecure and retreat. And when it regroups and reactivates, it has the ability to move internal mountains. So love Thyself. Rest and retreat when necessary. Join with others when you can. Listen to your own voice within and become best friends with it. There is no better teacher because it knows your curriculum. Much love, Lydia www.soulastro.com [email protected] |
