LEO NEW MOON 2017

Leo urges us to personal creative self expression.
Leo’s firey, fixed nature will find its way to that expression come hell or high water. That primary focus calls over all else.
This call is two fold this year as this new Moon on July 23 at 0 degrees Leo and the NEXT new Moon coupled with a total Solar Eclipse is in Leo at 28 Degrees. It is rare to have two new Moons in a row in the same sign.
The Sun is the ruler of Leo making the solar eclipse so much more powerful.
The July 23 new Moon at 0 degrees Leo makes for a new Moon packed with initiatory energy.
Leo is a fixed sign. It may appear to lie around in the Sun not doing a whole lot as minions provide the iced tea.
But when it does deign to move, the accumulated power behind that movement is potent. 🦁
And, it means that the home we make for our creative self expression now will resonate, bloom and grow for the next six months, at least.
The avenues of expression are many: art forms, bearing and raising children, but the aim is that it be an increasingly authentic expression of the self doing that expressing.
As we evolve, the art form, that which we create, may change. And we shall, hopefully, transform through the process of creation. Mercury and the North Node are also in Leo, so the energy asks us to be creative in our communication, info gathering and even with our jaunts around town. It also says it's time to be creative with who we are becoming, on the personality level, this lifetime.
Leo is a personal sign, below the horizon of the chart. It is somewhat unaffected by cities and human structures. The creative self expression, therefore, comes from within and from the natural environment – not from the dictates of fashion or street style or social media.
Mars moves into Leo also and is conjunct the new Moon. This adds fuel to the fire. Mars naturally rules Aries who wants to begin and instinctively knows when and how to begin – not always mindful of who or what may be sharing the road.
So being a bit mindful of your own and others space for the next couple of weeks is important. Remember that the Leo polarity point is Aquarius, who reminds of that each one of us has an expression of special purpose yearning to come out and there is room for everybody.
Leo has an urgency to express itself as well. It comes from the heart, more than the head.
You don't see lions running willy nilly in the midday sun.
Mostly we see them lounging on the savannah and enduring the leaps and prods of their adorable cubs with sleepy- eyed patience.
They are allowing the creative energy to build. When they do strike, it's fast, focused and puts food on the table.
So, a Leo new Moon energy with Mars at its side allows time for lounging and daydreaming. The gestation of creative energy will know when to get up in its haunches and pounce. Til then, enjoy nurturing the creativity growing inside you.
Leo rules the children you have and anything you create. So rub the belly and feel the glow that emanates from trusting that your nature knows how and when the time is right for the birth.
Unnecessary movement just depletes the huge creative rush.
Uranus in late degrees of Aries is squaring this new Moon in early degrees of Leo. It is, an out of sign square and it will bring an unpredictability to this time. It will add genius, it will add flashes of insight and, perhaps, irritability.
Be more like the Leo. Feel your muscles and your bulk. Feel the heat on your fur and remember the babes clowning about.
Being roused to sudden outbursts and volatility is not recommended.
Be the heart-centered, poised king/queen of the jungle who rouses when necessary and when it's practical.

The Cancer Sun to Capricorn Full Moon polarity is one of the most potent occurrences of the year.
Our emotional body and our ego self is revealed and held by the rings of Saturn, Capricorn’s ruler.
The Capricorn Full Moon asks our ego/ emotions to give form to who we are under the spotlight on the stage of our lives. How do we feel about the person we have become, the person who pays the bills and goes to work and stands up for what we feel is important. Do we have a means of expressing the truth of that person? Or do we just get up there and tell the same old joke.
We may feel turned inside out.
What we want to keep to ourselves may be revealed. If who we are on the inside matches pretty well to the life we lead on the outside, it can feel alright.
If we are strictly acting in our day to day world, it is an opportunity to see where we can align how we feel with what we do.
This full Moon is conjunct Pluto which is making a long trip through Capricorn. Pluto’s transformative, evolution- inducing power gives a reconstructive boost. From the rafters of the conscious emotional body to the basement of your subconscious, feelings are shaking loose for examination, processing, honoring, releasing and moving on.
With the current Neptune retrograde, memories are resurfacing and triggering feelings from which we may have been disconnected for a long time.
Mars is currently in Cancer, so our feelings are influencing actions more than usual.
This full Moon says it is TIME – Saturn, ruler of Capricorn, is the astrological time lord -- to allow feelings to arise from the mists of time and memory for another look.
Completion is a way to make room. Finish left-behind projects- whether it means writing the last chapter of the book or realizing it is done just as it is once you've spell checked.
Finishing can also mean wiping a slate clean and beginning again with all the experience gained on all levels.
The process will make space for amended blue prints that allow refreshed dreams to drop in to your life as realities.
