We have, here, the first New Moon of the astrological year. Aries is the first sign of the Zodiac. The ram who heads out and bursts through, like the first daring buds of Spring coming up through winter-hardened ground. Mercury is Stationary Direct today and will resume forward motion at 5degrees of Aries. The impulse to get going may be strong and waiting a few days to gestate in the dark of the new Moon and Mercury readying to go forward is advisable. Aries will, however, follow its instincts. It will charge out when it can bear standing around in the paddock no longer. The primary initiatory energy of Aries is in Cardinal square to the more sage and considered sign of Capricorn. The Goat ventures higher up the cliffs, typically, than the ram, and can see further afield. Saturn, Pluto, and Aries’ ruler Mars, are all currently in Capricorn. Here, they look at the kat of the land prior to striking out on new campaigns. Saturn goes retrograde on April 17 and Pluto turns retrograde on April 22. The retrograde motion of these two power houses will temper and refine and realign our actions. Our current power structures, both internal and in the world are up for massive review, reconsideration and rehabilitation, and reckoning. We have been experiencing this review for many months. The best place to start with a rehab is definitely with our own stakes in the ground in regard to how we spend our vital life force day to day. With Aries’ natural square to Cancer and opposition to Libra, how do we observe our emotions rising up and how do we care for ourselves in light of those emotions. Projection onto the other is pretty much never the answer; but observing what emotions and desires to action are evoked by others is absolutely worth attending to. As Capricorn rules authority and societal structures, it’s a good time to envision what kind of society we’d like to inhabit and look at how we can, in our individual ways, live our way into the new structure. As the Sun will soon enter Taurus, and in a month so will Uranus, all of our value systems will be called into the forefront. How can we start living in the world we wish for? By living in alignment with the Planet and with the others in it? That kindness starts with how we value ourselves and how we value our time and how and where we spend it. Chiron, the wounded healer, is entering Aries on April 17. The asteroid takes 50 years to make its turn around the Zodiac, so he hasn’t visited with Aries since 1968. He will remain in Aries til 2026 after a brief retrograde back into Pisces in September. A new and instinctual experience of how we integrate our most profound wounds and utilize/share their gifts is called for. Look at where early degrees of Aries live in your chart to see how the integration can be experienced. At this Aries new Moon, see where you might be butting your head against the wall— against what and whom? Can you turn around out of the stable and into the green field to rub your sore head and consider new or improved or wider options? Allow for the blood to boil and take it out in a hike, on the freshening up of the home, garden and workspace. All of this will assist in aligning your vibration with that which is your happiest self. We have Sun Moon and Uranus conjunct today so let your instincts be your guide and let the genius that is your Higher Self inform your instincts. The Sun enters Taurus on April 19. We enter a receptive time that honors the what and how we Value ourselves, and in turn, all of Life. With the massive retrograde of Saturn and Pluto in Capricorn, get down to the business of reframing a life that is valuable to you. Lots of Love, Lydia www.soulastro.com [email protected]
