AQUARIUS NEW MOON 2023
Happy Lunar New Year! The first new Moon of 2023 is on 21 January 01 degree 32 minutes Aquarius. Mercury resumed forward motion on 18 January. Uranus goes direct at 14 degrees Taurus on 23 January. Uranus is the ruler of Aquarius- so perfect timing for the new Moon. Of course, we also have a new beginning with the Lunar New Year of the Water Rabbit. The rabbit is associated with longevity, peace and prosperity. We can look for new ways of finding the happy qualities invoked by the rabbit. Aquarius is the rebel of the zodiac and it likes to find its own way of doing things. The next couple of weeks is a good time to allow new ideas, new ways of thinking or to try NOT thinking. Hah hah. All of the planets are moving in forward motion once Uranus goes direct. We may find it easier paths to direction, solutions, and the energy to take action. Aquarius likes to serve the common good. Its polarity- Leo- is developing the creative self. Wherever we are on that trajectory at the moment we can consider what is best for ourselves and what is best for the whole. We can view the full spectrum from “I Will” in Leo to “I Know” in Aquarius. Aquarius takes the big picture seen during Capricorn and internalizes it into useful information and direction. We are nearing the end of the astrological year. Aquarius is the 11th sign. It is wild and it is wise. It can return from the maelstrom with a lightning bolt of truth it has snatched from the sky in the rainstorm. Be aware of wild ideas. They may have been sent just to you as your awareness is aligned and ready to receive it. They may just be there to expand the mind – not necessarily to be acted upon. Discernment and wild-eyed genius go hand in hand. Grounding is key during Aquarius so that we can be a lightning rod to receive next level information. Run any guidance through your internal detector. Does this information sit well with me? For it fit with my values? We can also run ideas by our friends – Aquarius rules friendship and community. Aquarius makes a natural square to Taurus and it’s ruler, Uranus, will be direct in Taurus. Do my ideas and actions serve the greater good? Do my ideas and actions serve me and my greater good? Into the mix – the new Moon is in an out of sign conjunction to Pluto. It’s a reminder that even as we zoom toward the age of Aquarius — Pluto is still in authoritarian Capricorn. Power. Authority. Rules. Schedules. Structures. Governments. Here’s a gentle reminder that our relationship with personal Power and the powers that be is ongoing. We still on the day- to - day are investigating the relationship between personal power and authority. At this new Aquarius Moon it is a good time to keep an eye on our personal relationships with technology. This will be an ongoing theme with Pluto preparing to spend about the next 20 years or so in Aquarius. (Reminder- after entering Aquarius in March, Pluto will go retrograde on May 2nd and remain back in Capricorn from June until after the end of 2023. Capricorn transformation and power is not over yet!) With the Aquarius new Moon we consider: How does technology serve us. How does it empower us? Where are we giving our power and time over to technology. It needs to be an ongoing discussion each one of us has with ourselves. To be conscious of the relationship with devices/information and their use to us is key now and as thing speedily change. In the meantime open the windows! Let in the fresh new year energy. Do the rituals that support new and happy beginnings of all kinds. Welcome the Rabbit into your life and give it a pat and some sweet fresh carrots. Eat delicious food and allow the magic of time moving on to transform and empower. Happy Lunar New Year! 🐇 All the best to you. Lydia www.soulastro.com .lydia@soulastro.com

CANCER FULL MOON
The first full moon of 2023 is on January 2023 6:08 PM EST at 16 degrees 21 minutes Cancer. We have a Cancer full Moon focusing on our internal emotional life. Mercury retrograde in Capricorn is conjunct the Sun and directly opposing the full Moon. Mercury is retrograde until January 19th. Mars is retrograde in Gemini until January 12th. If you aren’t feeling New Year vibes that is understandable. Sometimes that burst of new energy doesn’t come when the clock strikes 12 on January 1. The first few weeks of this year can be well spent finishing up goals and projects, doing a clear out and taking time to rest and reflect. The Lunar New Year is on January 22nd. This coincides with the Aquarius new Moon on the 21st. New Moons are for new beginnings, so that would be a good time to make a list or what is wanted in the new year. In the next two weeks it is a great time to finish up projects that we still want to complete. The ones we don’t can be cleared out to leave space for the new. A retrograde Mercury and Mars invite us to see what is worth completing and what can be released, recycled, composted, etc. Not all fermenting projects make for good eating. Not all acquaintanceships warm the heart. We don’t have to embark on every path we have outlined in our minds. Capricorn Sun asks us to claim our authority over the structure of our daily lives, over our schedules, plans, ideas and ideals. Now is a good time to winnow down what we want from what we don’t. We can make mental and physical yes, no, and maybe piles – of plans, of projects, of relationships and of habits. The Cancer Capricorn axis has to do with parenting. It is a nice day to nurture ourselves as a kind parent would do. Soothing words, nice warm drinks, a lovely bath and a story with a happy ending can be just the ticket. This will set the clear space to hop into the year of the Rabbit at the new Moon. With retrograde Mercury opposing the new Moon, we can gain insight and clarity on how our emotional body is guiding our thoughts, ideas and intentions. This is very helpful because the inner – that feels good, that feels weird, that feels scary – but in a way I’d like to explore, that feels terrible in a way I would not like to experience— helps us to clarify what we do want in our lives. The Moon and the emotions can lead the way. With Mars retrograde in Gemini – which rules the nervous system- our physical wiring will inform us of what we do and don’t want – a moment at a time. This is a great time to tune into our own emotions and energy body, relaxing enough to let feelings and thoughts arise naturally to be felt and seen. Write some questions to the Higher Self that knows us so well – because it is us. Ask whatever you want to know. If you’re not sure try asking “what do I need to know right now?” “What do I want right now?” “What would be my next right action?” Have the pen ready for what comes. You can do it as a meditation in the morning or a note written before going to sleep at night. You can write the questions -and answers- with your non dominant hand for added insight. Uranus in Taurus also goes direct at the New Moon on the 22nd. Uranus rules the Higher Mind and is the higher octave of Mercury. Taurus retrograde Uranus clues us in to deeper thoughts and ideas that help to refine what is valuable to us. How can we spend our precious time in a way that most suits us on all levels. How can we feed ourselves with ideas, habits and actual food that delight, nourish and serve. What is most delicious to us? Can we move toward more of those foods, experiences, feelings, relationships and practices. Preparing for the journey on all levels is an integral part of embarking on the journey. It is all a part of the trip. Happy 2023. Love Lydia www.soulastro.com lydia@soulastro.com Capricorn New Moon 2022
The last new Moon of the year is on December 23 at 5:16 AM EST 1 degree 32 minutes Capricorn. The North Node and Uranus nearly conjunct in Taurus make an earth trine to The Sun, Moon, Venus, Mercury, and Pluto all in close degree Capricorn. This gives a soothing quality to this new Moon. Jupiter has completed its 12-year cycle and starts another round by moving into Aries. Jupiter makes a Cardinal square to the Sun/Moon conjunction in Capricorn. We may feel a rush of optimism and a sudden influx of ideas on how to structure projects that may have eluded us. We may feel a new beginning energy. Mars is still retrograde in Gemini so the surge of renewed energy will come from within. The gifts that may have been residing at the back of the mind or nestled behind a rib emerge from hiding. On December 29th, Mercury will station retrograde at 24 degrees Capricorn conjunct Pluto and Virgo. Memories may resurface to add just the puzzle piece we need to give progress our plans. This highlights building a life that is based on what we love and value with Uranus conjunct the N Node in Taurus. Uranus can shake things up a bit like a cat climbing the holiday decorations. Which baubles and bells and songs and traditions do we hold dear and which ones can be shaken loose? What freedom comes from releasing things we kept because they were a gift? What peace comes from spending holiday time in the way we choose – not by the dictates of habit and duty? Remember Capricorn rules. It exerts authority and puts down laws and commandments. Capricorn even rules over how we spend our precious time! Capricorn’s ruler, Saturn, is at 21 degrees Aquarius urging us to take dominion over our individual space, time, bodies, thoughts, and activities. With the trine to Uranus and N. Node in Taurus it is time to honor our own values, our own time, and our internal beloved traditions. Of course kindness and generosity are always in season. It is recommended - with this astrological configuration - to offer kindness and a spirit of generosity to the self first. This will radiate outward from the cherished heart – our own cherished heart, to those we meet along the way. Feed the core of love in the personal heart first. This is how the emanation that comes can feed the many. Think how hot the fire is at the center and how that burning warms those who come near with outstretched palms. Hold the hands over the heart at this full moon. Thank it for beating time for the life all throughout the year. See the flame of love it gives to you. Feel that energy radiate throughout the body. See the light emanate outward to light the room, the house, the garden. See the heart’s light glow beyond the town, beyond the country, beyond the seas and beyond the galaxy. Capricorn rules structure and boundaries. Experience, starting with the human heart, the power of the light that shines beyond imagining. Rest there, feeling the heart and feeling it’s expansion. We can do it in the blink of an eye and it can affect all eternity. Happy Holidays to you. May your light within illuminate the way. ❤️🐐🌑☀️🪐 Love, Lydia www.soulastro.com lydia@soulastro.com SAGITTARIUS NEW MOON
The November 2022 new Moon is on 23 November 5:57 PM EST at 01 degree 37 minutes Sagittarius. Venus an Mercury are widely conjunct the new Moon at 09 and 10 degrees Sag respectively. What we love and value - and what we think - will be greatly affecting our intuition and larger belief systems this new Moon. Sagittarius is a mutable fire sign. New Moons are a letting go to make way for new beginnings or more often a rekindling or reigniting. In Sagittarius, the fire of freedom is a real focus. Is what we are doing enhancing the experience of personal freedom to believe and act in keeping with our own value system, ideals an intuitive urging? Sagittarius is linked with natural law. Natural law is a river flowing as it sees fit and nurturing the environment and all of the lives in that environment as it goes along. A dam interferes with natural law. The water is not allowed to flow as it sees fit. It is not free to nurture the landscape and its creatures as it goes. It has been corralled to serve the convenience of men. The heart and mind of the individual can be rounded up by governments, families, schools, and corporations in a similar way. Sagittarius reminds the individual that the water (as blood) running through its veins yearns for liberation and the natural flow of life. Have a look at your own natal chart and see which house Sagittarius inhabits. See where Jupiter lives by birth and by transit in your chart. Have a look at the aspects being made to Sag and Jupiter in the chart to see where the urge for freedom, fun and the guidance of natural law are playing out in your chart. Jupiter is at 28 degrees of Pisces on the new Moon – stationing before it resumes forward motion on 24 November. Jupiter is completing a 12 year cycle and a new one will start in Aries on the Solstice – 21 December. So we have a once in 12 years opportunity over the next month to go within, look at what parts of us have been locked away, indoctrinated, and institutionalized (all Pisces things). Where can we sit with those parts of ourselves that have been marginalized, vilified, and ignored. Can we sit in love with those locked away bits and give them some love – a kind word, understanding, and inclusion? How do we bring a stray cat out of a dark and damp corner? How do we entice the hidden bits of our natural selves to come sit in the couch – ratty hair and all? Mars is widely opposing the Sun moon Mercury and Venus. It is retrograde at 21 degrees Gemini. Gemini is the natural polarity to Sagittarius. Mars is making a mutable square to Neptune and Jupiter. We are able to make a kinesthetic – Gemini rules the nervous system – connection to our dreams hopes, wishes, and desires with the optimism of which o of those dreams might actually makes us happy and which ones could really just bog us down. A new Moon is always a good time to stop! And look within. Check in with the heart, mind and body to see if the way we are spending our precious time is in keeping with our personal values, beliefs and internal natural law. What part is being dammed up and restrained? Are we internally running around in circles while we sit quietly in a chair tap tapping at the keyboard to pay the bills? Jump up! Run around! Hippity hop! Take a day off! Buy something pretty! Do what you love! What makes the heart swell like a wave before a storm? What makes the heart constrict and shrink into a wizened grape? Tap into what is really going on inside. Do something fun! Do what you want! Enjoy! The Taurus in me says Safety first! But still! Buy that thing. Do that hobby. Eat that favorite biscuit. Laugh really loudly at that guilty pleasure TV show. Jupiter is EXPANSION. Where have we made ourselves small to keep the job? To keep the peace? Our personal natural design is just right if all of the colors in our painting haven’t been allowed to fill in because we think “orange just looks weird there.” Allow the orange to be filled in! Finish the picture. When we step back we may just see that that bright spot illuminates the whole painting. That piece of ourselves that we may have deemed unpalatable to others and to ourselves may be JUST WHAT THE WORLD NEEDS RIGHT NOW! It more importantly may be just what you need right now. Bring the self into the light. Include the outlying bits of the personality, the intellect, the belief system, the physical body, into the light of the Self. Breathe into the whole of you. Breathe out the judgement. Break down the dam and flow. Lots of love, Lydia www.soulastro.com M.com #womenlifefreedom TAURUS FULL MOON ECLIPSE
The full Moon eclipse occurs on 8 November at 16 degrees Taurus. It is exactly conjunct Uranus. Um. Yikes. The North Node is just a touch off the conjunction at 13 degrees Taurus. Close enough. Uranus is the revolutionary. It is technology. It is genius flashing out of the ether into the human mind and nervous system. In Taurus, Uranus is shaking our personal tree to see what we stand for and what needs to be shaken loose and released. What do we value enough to dig our roots in and stand tall for? It also helps us to raise our personal vibration up and out of the mire that is much of current earthly existence. Uranus works from a place of detachment. More benefit can often be given when rising above and radiating the energy of the best for all. It is free and can be done at any time by anyone with the consciousness and willingness to do so. The Sun in Scorpio is cuddled up to by Mercury and Venus on either side. The South Node is not too far off. Scorpio and Taurus are two fixed powerhouses. Forceful and often unmovable. What we decide to do think and feel at this time can be done with conviction. In other news, Jupiter is now retrograde in late degrees of Pisces for a short spell – until 24 November. If there is some internal expansion that needs final touches now would be the time… the weathervane atop the house in one’s dreams, the visualization that starts to feel more and more real. Jupiter will start a new 12-year cycle in Aries on the Solstice – December 21. Mars, who is spending an exceptionally long time in one sign — Gemini – is now retrograde until 12 January 2023. Gemini is a mutable air sign. How we think about certain things we may have held as personal truths are up for reexamination depending on what house Mars is inhabiting in your chart. We have some time to connect dots and have a look at what ideas and mental methods we’ve collected are useful and contribute to an enhanced life experience and which ones can be cast into the winds. Mars will remain in Gemini until 26 March 2023. Mars is important always, as it’s what drives our human vehicle around in the physical body on the earth plane. Mars is to be attended to now, at this Full Moon Eclipse, as it is the lower octave of Pluto, Scorpio’s ruler. Pluto invites and evolves the transformational journey of the soul. Mars in Gemini retrograde holds the ideas, thoughts, agendas and common beliefs that can be organized to move our souls evolution along. If we let go of thoughts that no longer serve at this time, the entity is freed up to adopt new practices and thoughts that help us, that nourish us, that allow us to walk more into the life we really do want. We move next into the Sun in Sagittarius time on Nov. 23 when our day to day thoughts become even more inspired by our deeper beliefs and intuition. As Jupiter rules Sagittarius, this time is in preparation of how we unfold in the days and weeks leading up to the solstice. Mercury, Gemini’s ruler, is conjunct the Scorpio Sun at the full moon adding the impact of personal truth, revelation, empowerment and transformation through the right use, personally, of the information and the mind. Feeling jangled? Think better thoughts. 😊 Uranus is the higher octave of Mercury so being mindful of the thoughts we think and the words we speak can truly shift the course of our lives. The power of the thought and word at this time is key to transformation, evolution and having a valuable life. The Taurus Full Moon can guide each person to connect with what ideas, plans, visions, actions and relationships make us feel good. What do we truly value most? This is not what we have been told to value but what we truly value in the quiet privacy of our own heart and mind. What makes us feel safe and at home? Adventure is more easily undertaken when we know what home base of the heart feels like. Feel into the love of self now. Love, Lydia www.soulastro.com lydia@soulastro.com SCORPIO NEW MOON PARTIAL SOLAR ECLIPSE
OCTOBER 25 2022 6:49 AM EST 2 degrees 0 minutes SCORPIO Not only do we have an eclipse, we have an eclipse with Venus exactly conjunct the Sun and Moon. A power team of personal planets. The south node at 13 degrees of Scorpio can’t be ignored, here, either, even if it is a wide orb. Scorpio’s ruler, Pluto, is at 26 degrees Capricorn making a Sextile to retrograde Neptune in Pisces. Where have we lost ourselves in our power in the past? Where have we lost our power in the depths and we need to dive down into the memory, the subconscious, the boxes in the attic to bring it up to be remembered, seen, and reassimilated. We can start with the Sun, Moon, and Venus conjunction early degrees of Scorpio. How is our inner life syncing up with the life we are actually living? How is the emotional body syncing up with our value system and experience of self care? Where can we release habits, thoughts, routines, relationships and patterns that no longer serve us? Scorpio looks at transformation and the two desires: to both individuate and to return to Source and to one again become part of the whole. Some will say we took human form to experience the Soul as a Self, separate from the Divine from which we sprang. There is a fear of moving further away from the comfort and safety of the true Home and there is fear of not having that individuated human experience we signed up for. The key can be in the natural polarity to Taurus. If we start with the Venus. Venus is a personal planet. It helps us to love the self we came here to experience. If we start with the basics - feeding, clothing, and housing ourselves with care – the adventure of individuation can be off on a firm footing. If we get enough sleep and speak to ourselves in a kind and nurturing voice, we are encouraged and emboldened. If we remember separation from Source is, in fact, an illusion, the adventure is mor of a game than a forced march. If we are reminded, as I am doing right now, that we carry our piece of Source with us in the form of our Higher Self, then we are never truly on this journey alone. If we continue to learn to communicate with- and be informed by- our own Higher Self, the we get to experience Union and the individual experience AT THE SAME TIME! When we forget all of that, we can go back to basics: did I eat a nourishing meal? Am I dressed comfortably for the task at hand? Did I sleep? Now back over to Pluto-ruled Scorpio. Scorpio, is, traditionally in charge of shared resources. It is powerful in that it knows how to use those resources. Where Taurus/Venus wants to do it by itself – which can, at times, lead to doing it the hard way – Scorpio goes right to the tools at hand. It will watch a YouTube video et Voila! It knows how to sew on a button, makes pancakes or change the oil in a car. Scorpio knows where to go and who to ask for help. Scorpio knows the wide world out there has the information and assistance it needs. And it is willing to help. Can we enjoy both? Can we take advantage of the Taurean/Venusian desire to internalize an authentic and useful value system the results in true love and care for the Self? Can we employ the Plutonian/Scorpionic sharing of resources and the individual and collective empowerment and transformation that is a result? Then we are truly preparing the way for Pluto’s entry in March of next year into Aquarius. The natural square that Taurus and Scorpio make to Leo and Aquarius gives an internal impulse, for us all at this new Moon and Eclipse- to engage with our own heart and it’s immense power- if Leo. It also gives an internal impulse to engage with and fire up the genius of the Higher Mind- the collective drive toward service and the Common Good of Uranus- ruled Aquarius. The New Moon is widely opposing Uranus and the North Node in Taurus highlighting the urge to align personal sense of value and survival itself with the good of the whole. What a time to be alive!!! I kid you not. We are all here because we are needed. We are all here because we are part of the individual and collective transformation at hand. What to do? How to engage? First love and live for the Self. At a new Moon we do a big exhale and let go. Purify the body and mind in any way that suits you- Epsom salts, primal scream, running around, singing the heart out. Put the hands on the Heart every day and say, “Please lead the way.” Not a metaphor here. Literally put the human hands on the human heart beating in the chest and say “I’m with you. Please let me hear and follow the love and power beating within me.” Sit for a bit with the beating of that heart and remember we are all from that same Impulse. That same Source. The voices are many – every voice giving its point of view. Rise up like the Eagle of Scorpio and see all of the living experience from a distance. It is easier to send love to the whole soup of existence when we can’t differentiate the lovely soft potato from the still crunchy and smelly turnip. We can love the whole stew from a distance. Let the Universe sort them all out. If we can send good heartedness, good will and kind thoughts and vibrations to the whole scene unfurling below, that is a lot. Probably more than we can possibly imagine. Love the whole soup. It would be powerful to give this a try daily for the next two weeks leading up to the Taurus Full Moon Eclipse on November 8. Then having done our bit, we can get up about the business of the day knowing we attuned to our own heart, we sent good vibes to the whole of the earthly experience forward and backward in time, and we will be guided by the wisdom of our heart which shared the beat in time with Source energy. How about them apples? Each heart is like an apple going into a different dish serving a different purpose. Is it pie or applesauce or sliced on a cheddar sandwich. It’s all good. To each it’s own. Each one serves the individual, and all joined together, we contribute to the whole. The eclipse sets a marker for the next since months. It is a powerful new beginning when it is on the Scorpio/Taurus axis. Fixed signs, when they screw up the courage, are unstoppable. There are amazing and powerful examples of human courage in the world right now. Send love. Encourage and enjoy the Self. Encourage and enjoy others. We are all really one anyway It will all be over soon enough. So we might as well let go, throw our arms in the air and scream at the sheer thrill of the ride. Lots of love and see you at the Full Moon in Taurus eclipse on 8 November. Love, Lydia wwwl.soulastro.com www.soulastro.com lydia@soulastro.com Aries Full Moon 2022
Oct 9 4:54 PM EST 16 degrees 32 minutes Aries. Venus is conjunct the Sun in Libra. Focusing on beauty and following a more nourishing thought each moment is beneficial. Good thoughts send out hopeful and helpful vibrations to a world that truly wants and needs our love. Chiron is conjunct the full Moon highlighting where we can adjust any imbalances in our system to encourage healing. Mercury enters Libra on 10 October asking us to see as many sides as we can of an issue when forming opinions and decisions. Mars in Gemini makes a harmonious air trine to the Sun and sextiles the Moon. We can sync right actions up with ideas and instincts at this time. Pluto resumed forward motion on the 8th at 26 Capricorn. We’ll keep seeing the uprising of people wanting their power, wanting to express their own truth, not a way imposed on them by man made structures. Saturn will go direct on the 22nd at 18 Aquarius. Speaking of – Saturn is square to Uranus at 18 degrees of Taurus at the full Moon. Talk about a revolutionary aspect. People have had enough of other people – and with Saturn – with authoritarian regimes telling them what to do. With both planets retrograde the feelings are historical and the trauma around safety and security and honoring one’s own value as a being in the Earth plane is DEEP. With Pluto going direct and inching ever closer to Aquarius, the power is going to shift. I hate to say balance of power as it has been so far off kilter for so long it’s more like a slingshot that has been pulled back as far as it’s going to go. The Davids of the world are releasing that stone from that humble slingshot and it will be interesting to hopefully see which way the Goliaths fall. Mercury, now direct, enters Libra on the 10th bringing more Venusian energy to the mix. There is a need to find a way to see why and how others act the way they do. The Sun and Venus enter Scorpio together on October 23rd making the collective urge/surge for power/individuation very, very personal. The new Moon in Scorpio on the 25th starts an eclipse cycle, so prepare to take responsibility for and to step into your own power. Each one of us wears it in a different way that is attuned by us and for us so that we can emit our specific vibration. If one is looking for the purpose in this life, I would suggest this is the overarching purpose. Learn to feel the self and how it tunes into the world and what the higher self is working with us to do. It can and will be shown. It is as close as one’s own breath. Libra is an air sign. I recommend starting with the breath. Find a breathing practice that works for you. All spiritual and martial arts traditions have them. Start asking the higher Self while breathing where the attention in the life can be directed for greatest benefit to the Self and others. It could be a spiritual practice. It could be an art form. It could be a community group of friends. It will be revealed by the desire, the intention, the breath, the connection. I like to believe each of us has a place in the here and now and a role or roles to fill that is suited truly for us and for our specific tone/note/vibration that we emit. In the breathing/the meditation, it can be useful to emit a tone or tones out loud. This will help to become aware of and to attune you our own vibration. Follow the note. It will open the way to increased awareness of, acquaintance with and understanding of the Self and the business of this life experience. The Aries Full Moon is instinctual. Leave the mind. Follow the instinct. Take a moon bath. Let the full moon shine on you whether through a window or when you are outside. Feel the feet on the earth – the soil, the stone, the water. Feel the breeze in the toes and experience the belonging on the Earth home. Attune your vibration to it and allow the instinct and intuition to lead the way to the home within. We each have a note to sound. We each have a part to play in life on this Earth right now. If you’re here, you have a part to play. It may be quiet. It may be loud. It will be as natural as breathing or eating or doing what you love. I encourage you to consciously join in the full Moon. Your literal heart will inform the mind and inform the action. Much love. Take heart. women life freedom💪 Lydia 🐏 www.soulastro.com lydia@soulastro.com Libra New Moon2022
The New Moon is on 25 September 4:54 PM EST at 2 degrees 48 minutes Libra. Libra is a Cardinal air sign. It makes sense that it is a Cardinal sign as it begins around the Equinox. Cardinal signs like to begin things. We have a new season and a new time of the mind. Air signs deal with thoughts and ideas. Venus-ruled Libra likes to think of love and beauty. It has an understanding, too, of the opposites of those qualities and everything in between. We talk of balance with Libra. As the first of the signs in the second half of the astrological year - it is learning about balance through relationships of all kinds. It looks at light and dark, night and day, sea and shore, self and other. It sees an interaction, a behavior, a way of presenting, and makes an internalized decision on how IT would like to interact, behave, to present - having evaluated what it has seen and experienced. Mercury is retrograde until October 2nd. It is retrograde in Virgo now, so revision of what is true, what is useful, what is helpful and what is good for a laugh is in order. Mars is in Mercury-ruled Gemini for months to come so it’s a good time to sync up thoughts and ideas with the actions that are taken. Jupiter has recently entered Aries. The way we will expand into optimism, a wider view of things - is to allow the self to get in tune with natural law on the instinctual level. This will serve the individual AND, in turn, the whole. What is Natural Law? It is the seasons turning, it is the wind blowing, the fire crackling, the water winding in the way it chooses down the stream to the sea. It is the pulsating vibration of the earth that we can sync up with if we but stand on, sit on, and walk with care and listening upon it. It is what feels right on an intuitive level. The elements run instinctually, with wisdom. And so can we. Libra’s polarity is to Aries. They are both Cardinal signs. They like to start things. At a new Moon each month, we can begin again. This new Moon is more potent for beginnings as we have just experienced the Equinox. The wheel is of the year is turning to a new season regardless of where we live upon it. Most planets are in retrograde motion, so the energy can feel like resuming a project/relationship/plan rather than a stark new beginning. Aries is the first sign of the zodiac and Libra is the seventh. Libra is the first of the socially-focused signs. It is learning who it is by joining with others. From Aries through Virgo the self is developing. In Libra, it starts to relate and to define who it is not simply from its own eye view but through the view and experiences of others. What view are we observing in others, in the world at large now? What do we try on for size – in the mind, the heart, in our actions. Instinctually, what suits us – our values, beliefs, desires? Libra is Venus- ruled, after all. In Venus-ruled Taurus we looked at the real sense of safety, security, and survival. In Libra, we run through the mind, the idea, and the aesthetic. Much effort is undertaken in this world for the beauty that will be made or delivered as a result. What is your instinctually and aesthetically-attuned eye leading you toward? What fills your heart up when you drink it in? What causes you to avert your gaze or, even to squeeze your eyes shut so hard a single tear is squeezed out. These experiences - these intakes of images, ideas and sensations are calling for special attention at this time. They inform us of what is important to us – what we want more of, what we can leave behind and what is calking us to action. Do we feel called to express devotion? Do we want to create something of beauty? Or do we find our fist raised in the air grasping a shorn lock of our hair in solidarity with our sisters around the world. 💪 Time will tell. This time will tell. Follow the beauty – be it harmonious, glorious, mundane, or shocking. True Beauty leads to the heart. In the heart beats the power that strengthens and transforms all. I stand with women and those who stand with the women. Lots of Libra love to you. Lydia www.soulastro.com lydia@soulastro.com PISCES FULL MOON
September 10 2022 5:59 AM EST at 17 degrees 41 minutes Pisces. Uranus is pretty much Sextile the Full Moon. Neptune, Pisces ruler is not conjunct the full moon at 24 degrees Pisces retrograde but is definitely in the vicinity. Mars is also in the vicinity of a mutable square to the Sun and Moon at 11 degrees Gemini. The Virgo Sun’s ruler, Mercury, starts a retrograde cycle at 8 degrees Libra at the full Moon. As it stations, Mercury is opposing Jupiter in Aries. We can instinctually, and with a different kind of optimism, experience a different way of thinking, a new way to approach the tasks and adventures that are daily life. We can ask to proceed in a way that feels more natural for us. Perhaps we have taken in a lot of outside information. We can take this time to sift through our own thoughts and ideas – weaving new ideas with treasured beliefs. We can release the info that doesn’t meet our internal truth detector test. Mars is in Mercury-ruled Gemini until next year. It is an opportunity to make sure our actions – Mars – are in alignment with our personal truth. We can be aligned according to one’s own lights. Certainly we are seeing the unmasking of those who don’t practice what they preach out in the world. How can we bring our values, ideals, hopes and wishes into reality by living by our own thoughts and beliefs? As the moon is full in Pisces and starts to wane toward a new Moon in Libra on 25 September, how can we move into an honest equilibrium and alignment. Can we calibrate our thoughts to our actions for our own good and the good of the whole. It could certainly be a big relief! Mercury will dip back into Virgo and resume forward motion on 2 October so these next few weeks are a great time to get into step with ourselves unifying the mind, the thoughts, the beliefs, the actions, the self care, and the release of that which is simply not true for us. Phew! I like it. 🌻 We have the Pisces full Moon. Pisces, a mutable water sign ruled by Neptune, is the 12th and final sign of the zodiac. As the 12th sign, it carries the wisdom and energy of all of the signs. We can experience a deeper understanding of the relationship our emotions have with our mental, spiritual and physical experience. Pay attention to what feelings are influencing the mind and body this weekend. More than ever, it is a good time to take epsom salt baths – even if it is a foot bath — as Pisces rules the feet. The purification and uptake of minerals is simple and helpful now. We have come almost through half the astrological year that starts with Aries. We can review what we have felt, done and dreamed over the last six months. With most planets in retrograde it is a good to for review, repair, release and many of the other “re” words. Tune into which ones work for you. Pisces is our connection with spirit and we can say Virgo is how we go about our business on the Earth plane and our attitude toward that business. How are we connected? Where are we wanting to take a break? Checking out can be a good thing. We may need to rest, recharge, regroup before we can even muster the energy to attend to daily life. Pisces energy can key into love and compassion. With the opposition to Virgo we bring in healing. It is a great time to give prayers or energetic offerings of purification and love to the Self first. We can imagine the full Pisces Moon shining on us in a lovely salt bath. Salt is a healer and purifier. We can imagine that purifying bath being given to any persons, places and circumstances forward and backward in time and across all dimensions that come into our consciousness during this time of prayer or contemplation. Water is a conveyor of emotion. We can transmit our best and highest love and intentions to all people (that includes all living entities and those who have made their transition into the non physical), places and things at this time. We can experience peace in this perfect temperature of water and we can allow good healing feelings to emanate out. The love is limitless. Those to whom we send this prayer can be numberless. Allow the self to be an ocean of space sitting in the pool of light that is the Pisces full Moon. If you can’t physically see the moon imagine it in the heart. This exercise can be done any time of day and it can be done more than once over the coming days leading up to the equinox. This time of contemplation will bring us to a new experience of equilibrium, of balance and of clarity. This will help us to prioritize in which areas we would like to focus our energies moving forward. Dreams. True dreams. Heartfelt dreams. Real thoughts and beliefs. Personal revelation. Healing intentions. Useful actions. Release and respect for the emptied space to allow in the precious new. Much love to all at this precious Pisces full Moon. Bathe in it. Swim in it. Release some dream bubbles and float. Love, Lydia www.soulastro.com lydia@soulastro.com |
